Objetivo: Investigar a utilizacao da planta Sphagneticola trilobata por agricultores como coadjuvante no tratamento do diabetes mellitus. Metodo: Foram entrevistados cinco portadores de mellitus e que usavam S. trilobata, municipio Rio Grande, Grande Sul, periodo junho julho 2009. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comite Etica Pesquisa Faculdade Medicina UFPel (072/07). Resultados: Todos os eram sexo feminino com idade entre 48 74 anos. As folhas foram parte mais utilizada.
